Eleanor Mitch, Founder, EM Strategy Consulting

Friends introduce her as a creative problem-solver.  She has 20 years of international experience living and working in Brazil, Portugal, Spain, Japan, France, Switzerland and the USA with a broad range of experience (private sector, government, international organizations, academia, start-ups and non-profits).

From Japan to Brazil to France, senior officials have sought her expertise to create programs to engage and increase influence.  She draws from behavioral psychology, cross-cultural expertise and creativity to deliver financially successful programs with multiple stakeholders.

Before establishing herself in France, Eleanor served as Head of Engagement for the Rio 2016 Organising Committee for the Olympic & Paralympic Games. Previously, she founded and ran Nobeoka Japan’s 1st Earth Day Celebrations, Rio de Janeiro’s 1st International Environmental Film Festival and was country representative for the World Meeting of Environmental Lawyers for the Rio+20 summit.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in philosophy, communication & fine arts  (individualized major) from the University of Pennsylvania. She also served as an invited professor Fulbright Scholar at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (Urban & Regional Planning Department).  She participated in Wharton’s Initiative for Global Environmental Leadership in 2014.  She has an LLM and is currently completing a doctoral degree in public and fiscal law at the Université de Paris 1, Panthéon-Sorbonne.

She considers herself a world citizen with a US passport, conducting business in: English, French, Japanese, Portuguese and Spanish.  Sometimes, she wakes up in one language and goes to sleep in another.  Umeboshi (梅干) are one of her favorite snacks.
